Preliminary information
Before explaining to you how to talk on Fortnite for Nintendo Switch, I need to make you aware of some preliminary information. First of all, you must know that, in order to play this famous video game on the Nintendo home console, it is necessary to have a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online: service with prices starting from € 3,99 per month, which guarantees the possibility of playing online in compatible video games.
Also, in order to play Fortnite you must have previously created an account epic Games and having connected the latter, during registration or, subsequently, through the menu of Settings of your account, to the Nintendo console. To be able to carry out this step it is clearly necessary to have also created a Nintendo Account.
Furthermore, creating a Nintendo Account is a prerequisite that is also necessary in order to access the Nintendo eShop: on Nintendo Switch, in fact, the Epic Games video game can be downloaded for free, by pressing the button Free download, through the virtual store of the Japanese company.
Clearly, in order to perform this operation, it is also necessary to have connected the console to the Internet, via the menu System Settings> Internet Settings.
Furthermore, if you have problems installing Fortnite on the Nintendo home console, I suggest you check the free space in the memory, by going to the menu System Settings> Data Management> Software.
In this regard, given the storage space limited to 32 GB, you might consider buying one micro SD card, like the ones I recommended to you in my dedicated buying guide.
Finally, I make you aware of the fact that, in order to speak on Fortnite means Nintendo Switch, you must connect a headset to the audio jack on the top of the console, as the console does not have a built-in microphone.

How to talk on Fortnite Nintendo Switch
Now that I have explained to you what all the requirements are necessary to be able to play Fortnite su Nintendo Switch, it's time to move on to the practical part of this tutorial. To start, turn on the console and press the same button three times in a row to access its main menu.
Now, if you've already downloaded Fortnite from Nintendo eShop, following the instructions I gave you in the previous chapter, start the game by pressing on its icon located in the main menu.
Done that, to be able to speak on Fortnite, you must first adjust your voice chat settings to enable it. To do this, access the menu Play, then press the button capacitor positive (+) lead on the console, to open the Menu. Now, in the box that is shown to you, select the item Settings and confirm your choice by pressing the A key.
At this point, go to the menu Audio (the loudspeaker symbol) and make sure it's set to Yes the wording located next to the item Voice chat.
Furthermore, in correspondence with the wording Voice chat method, choose whether to select the option Open microphone o Press and speak. In the latter case, by choosing to activate Push to Talk, go to the menu controller (controller icon), to configure the key to use for speaking.
On this screen, then, select the configuration custom and reach the menu Edit commands. After that, assign a key to the named command PTT, which will be shown to you in the panel Actions.
Once this is done, all you have to do is start the game via the menu Play, to be able to communicate vocally with your teammates on Fortnite, using the headphones with microphone previously connected to the Nintendo console. Convenient, right?
